Zone 2 Cardio
How to get in the zone and why
I used to run track in high school and unfortunately for me, I was good at it. My race was the 400 m and while I could sprint with the best of them, I learned to hate cardio with every practice. My body was exhausted and getting injured after every meet. I don’t hit the track like I used to back then, but I know cardio helps maintain a healthy heart. That’s why now on any day that I am in the gym, I also try and get some zone 2 cardio going.
What is Zone 2?
Zone 2 cardio refers to a heart rate zone that is typically 60%-70% of your maximum heart rate. This usually is a moderate intensity and what I describe to folks as a pace where you can keep up a conversation but also need to catch your breath a bit.
